Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the topic: "Strengthening the role of scientific coordinating councils in enhancing fundamental and applied scientific research on human rights and freedoms."
The organizers of this event were the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights, the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (University) of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
The First Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Director of the National Center of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Human Rights, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Law, prof. OH. Saidov.
He noted that human rights and freedoms are one of the key aspects of modern jurisprudence, and international cooperation in this area is one of the directions for the development of the jurisprudence of Uzbekistan, and also showed the contribution of the National Center for Human Rights to the development of the theory and practice of human rights.
Doctor of Law M.T. Turgunov, in turn, briefly outlined the main goals and objectives of the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its activities in the field of improving the legal science of Uzbekistan.
Mark Lvovich Entin, one of the leading international lawyers in Russia, Doctor of Law, Professor of MGIMO, delivered the keynote speech “For and Against the Conclusion of the Eurasian Convention on Human Rights”.

Entin is a graduate of MGIMO, worked at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in 1991-2002. was in diplomatic work (Department of Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Department of European Cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the Council of Europe), in 2022-2012. worked at MGIMO, in 2012-2016. - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Luxembourg. Professor of the Department of European Law at MGIMO (since 1996), Vice-President of the Russian Association of International Law (since 2006),
Vice-President of the Russian Association for European Studies (since 2009), member of the International Legal Council under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, member of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy (SVOP). He has the rank of Envoy Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary (2013), the title of Honorary Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation (2006). Author of more than 600 scientific papers on the issues of international law, incl. – “Legal Aspects of Western European Integration: The Court of Justice of the European Communities” (1987), “International Guarantees of Human Rights (Council of Europe Practice)” (1992), “Protection of Human Rights under European Union Law” (2003), “European Law: European Union Law and legal support for the protection of human rights” (2005) and many others.

Concluding the event, Academician A.Kh. Saidov noted that the traditions of scientific cooperation between the lawyers of Uzbekistan and Russia continue, and today's event contributed to this process.
