ABSTRACT
Based on a historical-legal analysis, this article examines the formation of the medieval legal system, its primary sources, and its influence on modern legal systems. Employing a comparative legal approach, the study investigates the roles of Roman, canon, feudal, and Islamic law during the Middle Ages, as well as their reflection in contemporary legal institutions. The paper substantiates the conclusion that medieval law serves as the theoretical and institutional foundation for modern legal systems.
