To the 35th anniversary of our country's independence
On August 21, 2026, dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, under the slogan "One Motherland, one people, we will create a new life and future!", a republican scientific and practical conference was held at the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the topic "35th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan: evolution of statehood and the legal system. Development and prospects of legal sciences".
The conference was organized in cooperation with the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Center for Human Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Coordinating Council of the Academy of Sciences for the Development of Legal Sciences in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The conference was devoted to a scientific analysis of the processes of formation, gradual development and improvement of national statehood and the legal system in our country in accordance with modern requirements, in connection with the 35th anniversary of state independence.
The purpose of the conference is to summarize the results achieved in the field of jurisprudence during the years of independence, discuss current theoretical and practical issues in the field of state and law, and assess the importance of reforms aimed at building a legal state and a strong civil society from a scientific point of view.
Indeed, today, legal sciences face important tasks such as in-depth study of the historical patterns of the development of national statehood and the legal system, scientific support for the ongoing constitutional and judicial reforms, and the development of effective mechanisms for the legal regulation of modern social relations.
Fair laws, an independent judiciary, high legal culture, and the development of modern legal science are the main factors ensuring the sustainable development of a legal state. Therefore, increasing the scientific potential of legal scientists, supporting fundamental and applied research, and implementing scientific developments in the life of the state and society are important conditions for the legal development of New Uzbekistan.
The conference will bring together the academic community - professors, teachers, researchers, students; practitioners - law enforcement agencies, court and justice system employees; representatives of non-governmental non-profit organizations and the media, a total of 120 offline and 500 online participants from 20 partner organizations were present.
The conference served as an important platform for the exchange of views between representatives of various scientific schools, practicing specialists and young researchers, scientific analysis of existing problems and development of substantiated proposals aimed at their solution.
Academician A. Saidov delivered a speech at the conference on the topic “Independence and the science of law: results and prospects”.
The conference was moderated by the Director of the Institute of State and Law, Doctor of Law, Professor M. Turgunov.

Abdurasulova), “Development and current problems of civil and legal sciences during the years of independence” (M.Kh. Baratov), “Current problems of studying human rights” (O.S. Ochilov).
Representatives of the academic community, members of the Coordinating Council for the Development of Legal Sciences H.B. Boboyev, O.T. Khusanov, M.M. Mamasiddikov, J.T. Kholmo'minov, K.R. Isanov, F.H. Otakhonov participated in the discussions.
The conference analyzed the theory of state and law, the history of statehood and other state-legal sciences during the period of independence, the development of fundamental scientific research, and future problems; discussed the stages of development of constitutional justice and the priority tasks of the field; covered the issues of legal science and education system, improving the quality of legal personnel training and strengthening the integration of education, science and practice in the conditions of New Uzbekistan; considered research conducted in the field of combating corruption, approaches to improving criminal legislation and existing problems; considered the development of civil law in the conditions of market relations, regulation of private legal relations, contractual and property
